The Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing at the University of California, Irvine (UC Irvine) is seeking qualified candidates for all ranks in the non-tenure track Health Sciences Clinical professor series (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and/or Professor). Clinicians interested in pursuing an academic career in clinical practice and teaching will be given an opportunity to grow in UC’s youngest and fastest growing nursing school. UCI School of Nursing offers the only doctoral Family Nurse Practitioner Program in the University of California system.

The UCI School of Nursing is distinguished by its community-based approach to promoting, improving, and sustaining health and wellness throughout the community. In January 2017, the University of California Board of Regents designated the Program of Nursing Sciences as the Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing. Ranked as one of the top 50 in research funding, the School of Nursing is dedicated to advancing evidence-based clinical practice and the discipline of nursing through scholarly research, education, and practice. Today, the School of Nursing is home to more than 200 highly qualified students and offers baccalaureate, masters, and doctoral degrees. Many opportunities exist for collaboration with the campus and the diverse Orange County communities.

The School of Nursing is one of four academic units in the College of Health Sciences which includes a School of Medicine, Program in Public Health, and Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION: Master’s degree in Nursing or Post-Masters Certificate, California RN license, and California NP Certificate required. Must be a Nurse Practitioner (NP)/Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) who is nationally board certified in at least one of the following areas: Family, Adult Gerontology, or Acute Care. Must also have experience in clinical and didactic teaching. The School is seeking faculty with clinical experience in areas such as: integrative health, urgent care, specialty practice, primary care.

DESIRED SKILLS FOR THE POSITION: Doctor Of Nursing Practice (DNP) Preferred. Desired skills in community health and online teaching.
