Lecturer in the Master of Arts in Teaching Program

The UC Irvine School of Education seeks applicants for temporary, part-time lecturer position in spring quarter 2019 to teach EDUC 348B Educational Equity and the Exceptional Learner, a course in the Master of Arts with Credential Program. Course sections are available in both the multiple subject and single subject pathways:

Course Description:

Educational Equity and the Exceptional Learner II (EDUC 348B) - 2 Units course

Emphasizes the use of differentiated instruction to meet special needs and the creation of a positive, inclusive learning environment that provides access to the core curriculum for special needs students. This course is the second of two courses focused on preparing general education teachers to support exceptional learners across subject areas and grade levels. The first course in this series focused on policies, legal responsibilities, school processes, and an introduction to accommodations and modifications. This second course, focuses on how to use Universal Design to provide access to the curriculum to all students.

Service Period Dates:
Spring Quarter is 3/27/19 – 6/14/19, first day of class will be on 4/1/19

Minimum Qualifications:
A master's degree, a record of successful teaching experience, a valid credential in special education, experience in K-12 special education teaching, and demonstrated expertise in the content of the course to be taught. Relevant experience may be considered.

Desired Qualifications:
A doctoral degree in a field related to the course to be taught. Teaching at University level.

Salary:

Annual full-time salaries will begin at a base rate of $54,738.
