The second position will focus on understanding novel modes of ion channel regulation in the CNS and will require prior training and experience in brain slice preparation and electrophysiological recording. For the second position, prior experience in mouse colony maintenance, transgenic mouse genetics and genotyping, and molecular biology will be advantageous but is not essential. The positions each require a Ph.D. in biological or biomedical sciences and/or M.D. from an accredited university. The prospective postdoctoral scholars will work with Professor Geoffrey Abbott (for more information see https://www.faculty.uci.edu/profile.cfm?faculty_id=5869).
