Position description

The Vaccine Research and Development Center, the Department of Physiology & Biophysics, and the Institute for Immunology at the University of California, Irvine, seek applications for research-intensive tenure-track Faculty positions at the level of Assistant Professor rank or tenured Associate Professor rank to complement a group of highly interactive faculty members with broad expertise in basic immunology, microbial pathogenesis, host-pathogen interaction, chemistry, bioengineering, and vaccine development. Priority will be given to candidates with a strong publication record and interests in vaccines and immunotherapies for infectious diseases, cancer, and autoimmune diseases. Research areas of interest include, but are not limited to, basic aspects of the immune response, mechanisms of vaccine protection, systems biology, and/or the development of novel adjuvants, vaccine delivery systems or immunotherapies. Integration into interdisciplinary and translational research programs will be required. The successful candidates will receive a generous start-up package and a salary commensurate with their rank and experience. The ideal candidate should provide evidence of successfully leading a research group and a strong record of extramural funding.
