Position: HS Clinical Professor Series (Assistant, Associate or Professor rank)
Due to departmental and sectional growth, the Department of Radiological Sciences, University of California Irvine, is seeking a qualified candidate in the non-tenure track Health Sciences Clinical Professor academic series (Assistant, Associate, Professor level). Expertise in all aspects of cardiothoracic imaging is essential and experience with vascular imaging is extremely desirable.
Requirements – The applicant must be fellowship trained in cardiothoracic imaging using radiography, CT, CTA, MRI, and MRA, and have a definite documented interest in teaching and research. Candidates must be board-certified in diagnostic radiology and be a MD or DO; licensed or be eligible for full licensure in the State of California and must be fellowship trained in Cardiothoracic and vascular Imaging. Responsibilities include clinical service, teaching of medical students, fellows, and residents, and clinical research. The candidate would be involved in reading CXR, cardiothoracic CT and MR and whole body vascular CTA and MRA. He/she shall be expected to protocol and supervise cardiovascular cases as needed and also able to understand and perform basic and advanced 3D post-processing. The candidate will be expected to conduct multidisciplinary meetings with cardio-pulmonary medicine, infectious disease, and vascular and cardiothoracic surgery and to take part in specialty weekend calls, focusing on cardiothoracic and vascular cases. The CVTI section at UCI is currently focused only on diagnostic imaging and procedures and therefore it does not provide cross-sectional interventional service such as ablation and biopsy.
The department has state of the art equipment including a clinical 1.5T Avanto and 3T Trio Tim Siemens MRI, 3T Philips MRI, two 256-slice Phillips CT scanners, 128-slice Phillips CT scanner, and 64-slice GE and Siemens scanners. In addition, there are research scanners, Phillips 1.5T MRI and Toshiba 320 Aquilion, located at the University of Irvine campus.
The University of California, Irvine Medical Center is a 411-bed tertiary and quaternary care hospital with all residencies. UCIMC is a Level 1 Trauma Center in urban Orange County.
