Position: Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series, Open Ranks

FAMILY MEDICINE: The University of California, Irvine (UCI), Department of Family Medicine has openings for board-certified/eligible family physicians to join the UCI faculty in the Health Sciences Clinical Series at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor rank. This recruitment is for a Sports Medicine / Family Physician in an ambulatory practice. We are seeking qualified individuals who are excellent clinicians with a strong commitment to medical education, which will include teaching in the UCI School of Medicine education courses and precepting medical students in clinic, as well as participating in the Department of Family Medicine residency and sports medicine fellowship education.

DUTIES: The incumbent will participate in patient care, teach residents and students, perform university and public service, and demonstrate professional competency and activity.

DESIRED SKILLS: Procedural competency (musculoskeletal injections/procedures, sports ultrasound, family medicine ambulatory procedures). Team physician experience. Leadership experience. Interest in scholarly activities. Proficiency in Spanish, Vietnamese, or Korean.

REQUIREMENTS: Applications are being sought from candidates who possess M.D. or D.O. degrees. Candidates who have completed a sports medicine fellowship, or are currently in a sports fellowship are eligible to apply. Candidates must be eligible for licensure by the California Medical Board. American Board of Family Medicine Certification or eligibility, and Sports Medicine Board Certification or eligibility is required. Candidates must have demonstrated capabilities for teaching, professional service and/or research suitable to the HS Clinical Professor series.

Positions are dependent upon funding. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Initial appointments are for one year and renewal is based on availability of support.
