Lecturer in Film and Media Studies
Position description
The Department of Film and Media Studies at the University of California Irvine seeks applications for a part-time, non-tenure-track Lecturer to teach one upper-division undergraduate lecture class on Film and Media Theory. Course proposals should focus on a survey of the major directions of film and media theory, with an emphasis on developing the student’s ability to analyze and articulate a theoretical argument. The service dates for this appointment are Fall Quarter: September 23, 2019 to December 13, 2019. The pay period is October 1, 2019 to December 31, 2019. The current salary rate per course is $6,842.25.
Requirements – Ph.D. in Film and Media Studies or a related field; demonstrated teaching experience in this field at the university level. Current Ph.D. candidates must have their degree conferred by the beginning of instruction on September 23, 2019 to be eligible for employment.
