Open July 1st, 2019 through Tuesday, Jun 30, 2020 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time)
A postdoctoral scholar position is available in the Igarashi laboratory at University of California Irvine, Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology.
We investigate (1) basic circuit mechanisms for associative memory in the entorhinal cortex and hippocampus, and (2) how this circuit is affected and can be restored in Alzheimer’s disease mouse models. These projects use high-density in vivo electrophysiological recordings from behaving mice, optogenetics, and memory tasks for mice. The successful candidate will work on either of these projects.
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. with research experience relevant to our lab interests and a desire to work independently within a collaborative team environment. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in in vivo techniques. Competitive applicants should have at least one high-quality, first-author publication.
