Development of Drama Lecturer Search


The Department of Drama is establishing a search of qualified applicants for a position as part-time lecturer for Fall Quarter 2019 in the curriculum area of dramatic literature.

The department seeks applicants to teach a lower division undergraduate level class in the development of theatre and dramatic literature from Ancient Greece to Shakespeare. A PhD degree, or commensurate experience, in Drama/Theatre Arts/Performance Studies is required. Compensation for the quarter will be approximately $6k total and is non-negotiable.

The class to be taught will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:30am to 12:50pm.

Candidates for this position must show strong experience in teaching dramatic literature and working with diverse student population in a university environment. Experience in lecturing and leading discussion on historical, philosophical, theoretical and sociopolitical aspects of drama, as well as teaching students about research and writing critical analysis is required. The instructor will need to follow a guideline for the syllabus and assignments.
