The Innovation Center for Advancing Ecosystem Climate Solutions at the University of California, Irvine invites applications for the position of Academic Coordinator. The Innovation Center will develop the science and technology solutions needed to manage California’s natural lands for climate change, and address issues such as ecosystem management for carbon sequestration and conservation. The Center grant has recently been approved for an initial 3-year term.
The Academic Coordinator reports to and works in close partnership with the Director, Principal and Co-Investigators and MSO to administer this large, technically complex, and evolving center.
The Innovation Center involves faculty and researchers from three different schools of UCI (Physical Sciences, Engineering, and Information and Computer Sciences), and five other campuses or universities (UCD, UCM, UCB, SDSD, Stanford)
The Academic Coordinator will serve as a central administrator for the center, acting within the policies and procedures of the University, School, Center, and California’s Strategic Growth Council, to achieve Innovation Center’s goals.
Specific areas of responsibility include coordinating research, facilitating communication between and among project researchers, planning events to further collaboration and share project findings, developing an online presence to communicate findings to a broad audience, and assisting with project reporting.
