Lecturer - Intro to Civic & Community Engagement & Community Research
Position description
The Division of Undergraduate Education has an opening for a lecturer during the 2019-2020 academic year for the following course:
UNITSTU 10 : Introduction to Civic and Community Engagement and Community Research. This course provides students in the Minor in Civic and Community Engagement a foundation for understanding the role of public scholarship in civic engagement and social action, and the relationship between service learning and engaged citizenship. The course also introduces key theoretical and research methodologies in the scholarship of civic and community engagement. Topics covered can include the theory and history of civic and community engagement in United States, theories and methods for conducting research in the community, connecting academic interests with civic interests, and examining critical social problems and critiquing relevant public policies. The course also includes case studies and projects that allow students to engage and conduct research in the community.
