Junior Specialist at Transgenic Mouse Facility
Position description
The UC Irvine Transgenic Mouse Facility (TMF) provides services for the production, breeding, storage and analysis of genetically modified mice. The facility supports investigators at UC Irvine as well as a large number of other universities and commercial entities throughout the USA that conduct biological and biomedical research.
The successful applicant will, under the direction of the Specialist, induce superovulation, microinjection of pre-implantation embryos, surgical transfer of embryos to productive tract of female mice, Cesarean section delivery and foster of neonatal mice, extraction of genomic DNA from tissue biopsies, and other duties required for production of genetically modified mice.
