Description

The UC Irvine School of Education seeks applicants for temporary, part-time lecturer position in summer 2020 to teach a course in the Master of Arts in Teaching + Single Subject Credential Program. Generally, part-time lecturer positions are offered for one quarter at a time and at varying percentages of time, depending on the number and nature of courses assigned. This 4-unit course is scheduled for 3 hours twice a week and two sections will be offered.

Course Description:
ED 361 The Adolescent Learner: Issues of adolescent development and learning in family, school, and community contexts from biological, psychological, and social perspectives. Focus on how adolescents learn and what motivates them to learn, and how schools and teachers contribute to adolescents’ growth.

Service Period Dates for 2019-20:
Summer Quarter: 6/22/20 – 7/27/20

Minimum Qualifications:
A doctoral degree, a record of successful teaching experience, and demonstrated expertise in the content of the course to be taught. Relevant experience may be considered.

Desired Qualifications:
A secondary teaching credential and experience in secondary teaching. Teaching at University level; experienced in digital learning technologies and using Canvas as a learning management system.

Salary:

$5,752 per 4 unit course
