Postdoctoral Scholar – Department of Statistics

The Statistics Department at UC Irvine has a full-time position available for a Postdoctoral Scholar. The position requires a Ph.D. degree in statistics, machine learning, or related fields. The position entails performing research in the areas of statistical analyses for network data, machine learning in crowdsourcing, and active learning. The network data research requires developing dynamic community detection and hyperlink prediction for large-scale heterogeneous networks. The crowdsourcing requires developing efficient clustering algorithms to effectively combine opinions from multiple workers, and active learning involves learning metrics and actively sampling data for large-scale clustering analyses.

This is a full-time position that includes benefits. The initial appointment will be for one year starting no later than June 2020, with extensions for further years dependent on the availability of extramural funding. The salary for the position is $55,000 but is also contingent on knowledge and experience.
