Position description

The Kvon Lab (https://www.kvonlab.org/) in the Department of Developmental and Cell Biology and Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at UCI is seeking applicants for a Specialist Series position. The Kvon Lab uses a combination of novel genomics tools, CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing in mice, and developmental biology techniques to understand transcriptional regulation by non-coding regulatory DNA in the context of mammalian development, evolution, and human congenital disorders.

We are seeking a meticulous and proactive specialist who will carry out various duties to support the new molecular biology lab and the mouse colony as part of several projects aimed at understanding how gene expression is regulated. The work will include handling live mice, mouse tissue samples and animal microdissections. The candidate will be expected to assist with analyzing experimental results, generate reports, and participate in group meetings.

A successful candidate should have a B.A. or B.S. degree in Biology or related discipline, 1+ years of working experience in relevant field and experience with animal husbandry and basic molecular biology techniques.
