Applicants are invited to apply for a full-time postdoctoral position in the School of Information and Computer Sciences at the University of California, Irvine to support a research project investigating a computational storage architecture to accelerate data processing with exceptionally large Artificial Neural Network.
Our plans in this project are to develop a proof-of-concept system and deliver a complete end-to-end emulation environment to validate our claims and establish the performance specifications. Results of our work will be published in top-tier conferences/workshops in the area. We plan to combine our findings and preliminary designs into a large multi-year extramural grant proposal.
Responsibilities under this position will include: working collaboratively with the UCI research team, actively participating in scholarly communities through publication of research articles and presentations at professional conferences and mentoring graduate/undergraduate researchers working on the project.
Applicants must hold a PhD in Computer Science, Computer Science & Engineering, Computer Engineering, or similar fields. A successful applicant will be a highly motivated and productive individual with strong analytical skills, programming and practical skills as well as proficiency in computer architecture, system software (e.g., compilers) and embedded systems. Applicants must demonstrate a proven track record of research in system design, with a commensurate publication record and excellent spoken and written English.
Funding for the position is available today, with the exact start date contingent the availability of the applicant. The duration for this position will be two years, with the second year contingent on availability of funds at a salary of approximately $61,800 per year and customary UCI benefits.
