The Department of Population Health & Disease Prevention, Program in Public Health at the University of California-Irvine seeks a Postdoctoral Scholar for research in spatial epidemiology.

We are seeking to hire a highly motivated, dedicated individual who has excellent organization, time management and communication skills, and understands generalized additive modeling and the MapGAM library in R. This person will 1) analyze data collected from a cohort using the statistical software package R; 2) work closely with the principal investigator to design the analysis, collect spatial data from different resources, analyze the data and draft reports of results and manuscript; and 3) maintain project documentation and schedule.
This position is offered at a 100% time appointment from July 1st, 2020 to Dec 31st, 2021.

Requirements: 1) PhD in epidemiology/ biostatistics/ or public health, 2) Experience analyzing big data using software including R and ArcGIS; Knowledgeable in GIS mapping and analytic tools; Familiar with multivariate linear regression, logistic regression, additive regression, survival analyses; 3) Ability for quick learning, excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skills; 4) Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management; 4) Strong teamwork skills. Prior experience in cancer outcomes research is preferred.
