DEPARTMENT OF FAMILY MEDICINE
DIVISION OF GERIATRIC MEDICINE & GERONTOLOGY

The School of Medicine Departments of Family Medicine, in collaboration with the Department of Medicine, are seeking candidates for a full-time faculty position in the Division of Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology or Division of Internal Medicine at the University of California, Irvine. The position will be offered in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series at the Assistant, Associate or full Professor level. This on-going recruitment is for clinicians in an ambulatory practice.

We seek an enthusiastic, caring geriatrician to join an interdisciplinary outpatient practice at the UC Irvine Medical Center campus in Orange, CA. The academic clinician will work with other Geriatricians as well as a Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, Psychologists, Geriatric Pharmacologists and Social Workers. Our goal is to provide superb medical care for a diverse patient population. The outpatient practice is a teaching site for all levels of academic learners. For the interested applicant, opportunities for community-based care (e.g., SNFs) are available.

DUTIES: The incumbent will participate in ambulatory patient care, fellow supervision, resident teaching, medical student precepting; will perform university and public service, and demonstrate professional competency and activity.

DESIRED SKILLS: Excellent leadership and clinical skills; interest in clinical teaching; desire to work in an interdisciplinary team.

REQUIREMENTS: M.D. or D.O. from an accredited institution with appropriate clinical training and experience. Board certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine with Geriatric Medicine focus; eligibility for UC Irvine Medical Center medical staff privileges required. Candidates must have demonstrated capabilities for teaching, professional service and/or research suitable to the HS Clinical Professor series.

Applications are accepted year-round. Positions are dependent upon funding. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Initial appointments are for one year and renewal is based on availability of support.
