The Intelligent Dynamics Lab, directed by Professor Roy Fox, is seeking to hire a postdoctoral scholar to work at the forefront of research in reinforcement learning, imitation learning, and robotics. The position will involve either: (1) development of new theoretical and algorithmic approaches for inference of structured control, optimal exploration, and optimization for reinforcement learning; or (2) development of new practical methods and systems for robot learning, in particular leveraging structured inference and multi-task learning.
The initial appointment will be for one year, renewable on a yearly basis. The position requires a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or Engineering, Information Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field. Expertise in reinforcement learning, robot learning, or related fields of statistical machine learning is required, demonstrated by publications in top-tier venues in machine learning and related fields, such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, IJRR, RSS, CoRL, AAMAS, AAAI, IJCAI, AISTATS, UAI, and others. Preferred qualifications include demonstrated experience in areas such as robotics, vision, or NLP.
