Position description

The University of California Irvine (UCI) School of Medicine Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine invites applications for a full-time position. The academic appointment will be at the level of Associate or Full Professor of Clinical Pathology in the Health Science (HS) series. The department seeks an MD or MD-PhD board-certified hematopathologist with outstanding clinical skills to cover the following areas: Coagulation, Hemoglobin Electrophoresis, Protein Electrophoresis, and Hematopathology.

The successful recruit will also have the interpersonal and administrative skills to effectively coordinate with other faculty and staff in research, clinical, and teaching activities. Clinical licensure and board certification in Clinical Pathology and Hematopathology, as well as current sign-out responsibility in hematopathology, are expected. Departmental teaching and mentoring activities may involve medical students, graduate students, residents, fellows, and junior faculty. Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience and expectations.
