The Department of Radiological Sciences, University of California Irvine, is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a Tenure-Track 50/50 Assistant Prof/Assistant Prof In Res or Tenure 50/50 Associate Professor/Associate Professor In Residence position in the subspecialty of Diagnostic Neuroradiology. The position will be responsible for co-directing the Center of Artificial Intelligence in Diagnostic Medicine (CAIDM), overseeing the research members as well as assist with technical members of the team. The position requires teaching of computer science students, medical students, fellows, and residents. Expertise in machine learning is required. The co-director will also assist with daily operational oversight of CAIDM. This faculty position will also be responsible for at least 20% clinical coverage. For the balance of the appointment, the incumbent will carry out research and teaching duties in the Section of Diagnostic Neuroradiology and at the CAIDM.

Requirements - Candidate must possess an M.D. or Ph.D. degree and must be fellowship trained in Diagnostic Neuroradiology with documented track record in AI and neuroradiology research and teaching. The candidate must demonstrate a proven publication history and a track record of receiving grant funding. Candidates must be board-certified in diagnostic radiology and hold a medical license in the State of California.

The University of California Health system serves Orange County population. The Department of Radiological Sciences performs over 220,000 examinations per year and has 40 full-time and part time faculty. All equipment is state of the art. The department has active multidisciplinary collaboration with other departments. A brand new, state of the art imaging facility is opening in 2020 with new equipment in several modalities.
