JOB DESCRIPTION

The Institute for Memory Impairments and Neurological Disorders (UCI MIND) has two (2) opportunity for Postdoctoral Scholar positions. These research opportunities focus on the Epidemiology of aging, cognition, and dementia under the supervision of Dr. María Corrada.

Requirements:
The positions require a Ph.D or M.D./Ph.D. with excellent training in epidemiology, biostatistics, neuropsychology or related quantitative health research area.

The Fellows will be part of the California Dementia Epidemiology Postdoctoral Training Program and would receive additional mentorship from Paola Gilsanz (UCSF and Kaiser Permanente), Maria Glymour (UCSF), Elizabeth Rose Mayeda (UCLA), and Rachel Whitmer (UCDavis).

The Postdoctoral Scholars will have the opportunity to pursue research and publications as part of a multi-disciplinary program of the epidemiology, neurology, and neuropsychology of aging and dementia. During the training the scholar will also collaborate on projects outside the home research group (with one or more of the other three campuses), engage in peer collaborations, participate in career development activities, and prepare grant applications to establish research independence.

Candidates must possess strong communication and organizational skills. The position will be appointed at the level that is commensurate with the education and experience of the individual candidate and is for a period of one year with the possibility of renewal based on availability of funding support.
