Academic Radiologist – Health Sciences Clinical Series and
Clinical X (Radiological Sciences) Series
Neuroradiology

The Department of Radiological Sciences, University of California Irvine, is seeking qualified candidates in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series (Assistant and/or Associate Professor Levels) in the subspecialty of Diagnostic Neuroradiology.

Criteria for the Professor of Clinical "X" Series: The incumbent will be expected to conduct substantial research; provide patient care; teach fellows, residents, and medical students; and perform public and University service. Excellent teaching is an essential criteria for appointment in this series.

Criteria for the Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series: The incumbent will be expected to teach fellows, residents, and medical students; provide patient care; contribute to scholarly activities; and provide public and University service. This new faculty position will be responsible for 90% clinical coverage. For the balance of the appointment, the incumbent will perform teaching duties in the Section of Diagnostic Neuroradiology.

Requirements - The applicant must be fellowship trained in Diagnostic Neuroradiology and have a definite documented interest in clinical teaching and in research. Candidates must possess an M.D. or D.O. degree. Candidates must be board-certified/eligible in diagnostic radiology and must be licensed in the State of California. When eligible, the applicant must obtain the Certificate of Added Qualifications in Neuroradiology offered by the American Board of Radiology.

The University of California, Irvine Medical Center is located in Orange, California and is the only level I trauma center in the region. The department performs over 220,000 examinations per year and has 30 full-time and part-time faculty. All imaging equipment is state of the art. The department has active multidisciplinary collaboration with other services. The UC Irvine Medical Center is a 450-bed acute care and tertiary referral facility.

Orange County is world-renowned for its natural beauty, perfect year round climate, gorgeous locales on the Pacific Ocean and incomparable recreational opportunities. Great cultural opportunities abound in Orange County as well as in nearby Los Angeles and San Diego counties.
