Position description

Postdoctoral Scholar in Social Epidemiology

The Department of Health, Society & Behavior, Program in Public Health at the University of California-Irvine seeks a Postdoctoral Scholar to study cardio- and cerebrovascular health in multi-ethnic communities.
The candidates must hold a Ph.D. and possess an outstanding publication record. Candidates should have a strong background in one of the following areas: epidemiology or biostatistics.
The selected postdoctoral scholar candidate will be expected to undertake quantitative and qualitative data analysis and visualization, prepare conference abstracts and presentations, generate peer-reviewed manuscripts, and develop and implement funded research studies. There will be rich research opportunities to gain significant epidemiological research-related experience on cutting-edge topics and to work directly with community partners in a racially, ethnically, and economically diverse community. Must possess strong communication skills,
excellent organizational skills, strong quantitative research skills, and interest and/or previous training or experience in community health. Proficiency in Spanish and/or Vietnamese preferred but not required.
