The Seldin lab in the department of Biological Chemistry at the University of California, Irvine is recruiting a postdoctoral scholar. Our lab is interested in combining metabolic/physiologic experimental approaches with computational surveys of population datasets. In particular, we are focused on discovery and dissection mechanisms of endocrine communication.
Any background expertise is welcomed and qualified candidates for this position should have been exposed to general mechanisms of physiology and/or metabolism during their MD/PhD training. While no experience with bioinformatics is required, there is an expectation that individuals will possess a general interest and be motivated to learn from others. Team science is a key aspect of our lab, so qualified candidates must be able to work well with others.
A doctoral degree (e.g., Ph.D., M.D.) or the foreign equivalent is required. Individuals pursuing clinical fellowships and residencies in the health sciences are excluded from appointment to these titles
