Position description

The Department of Radiological Sciences, University of California, Irvine, anticipates openings for long-term/non-tenured, academic term appointments as Assistant, Associate and Full Project Scientist. The position involves research investigation in the areas of X-ray, proton, and ultrasound. Research in this laboratory focuses on applications of theragnostic with radiation induced acoustic emission for cancer treatment ( ). Applicants with a broad background in medical physics, physics, biomedical engineering or electrical engineering, who hold a doctorate degree and who possess a strong motivation to pursue an academic career in medical device are encouraged to apply. Strong background in electronics (FPGA and ASIC implementation), mathematics and software or hardware development skills are essential for this research. Training or working experience in photoacoustic (optoacoustic) imaging is desirable. Also the ability to communicate both verbally and in written format is important. Irvine is located in beautiful, sunny Southern California and is considered the safest city in the US. It is a delightful place to live and work.
