The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of California, Irvine is seeking qualified candidates for Clinical Professor, at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, in the non-tenure track Health Sciences Clinical Professor series. Clinicians interested in pursuing an academic medicine career in pathology will be given the opportunity to grow in a dynamic department that provides care to all UCI clinical locations. The successful candidate is expected to have excellent managerial skills, a strong interest in service activities, a commitment to education, and a record in clinical and/or translational research. The candidate will be responsible for clinical services in surgical pathology including on-call duty, service on intradepartmental and hospital committees, and teaching of medical students, residents and fellows. Applicants must be board-eligible or certified in Anatomic Pathology. Expertise in subspecialty areas of Surgical Pathology is highly desired in particular genitourinary, gynecological, and Cytopathology.
The UCI Medical Center is a 411-bed tertiary facility and is home to specialty services including an NCI-designated Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, H. H. Chao Comprehensive Digestive Disease Center, UCI Regional Burn Center and the only Level I trauma center in Orange County. It provides diagnostic services to UCI Healthcare patients and also provides consultative and referral services to more than 33 hospitals in Orange County and 31 other regional hospitals.
