Position: Neuroradiologist
Department of Radiological Sciences
University of California Irvine

The Department of Radiological Sciences at the University of California, Irvine -School of Medicine invites qualified applications for the position Neuroradiologist. This appointment will be in either the Clinical “X” series, the Health Sciences Clinical Professor series, or the -in-Residence series, at either the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank in the subspecialty of Diagnostic Neuroradiology. For the balance of the appointment, the incumbent will carry out research and teaching duties in the Section of Diagnostic Neuroradiology.

Criteria for the Professor of Clinical "X" Series:
The incumbent will be expected to direct patient care conduct substantial and meaningful research; teach residents and medical students; and perform public and University service. Excellent teaching is an essential criterion for appointment in this series. Priority will be given to candidates with a proven track record of academic productivity, as demonstrated through high-impact publications, thematic-based research, and/or grant funding.

Criteria for the Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series:
The incumbent will be expected to direct patient care; teach resident and medical students; participate in research and/or creative work; and perform public and University service.

Criteria for the Professor-in-Residence Series:
The incumbent will be expected to conduct substantial and meaningful research; teach students; direct patient care; and perform public and University service. Engage in a program of scholarly activity, including pursuit of intramural and extramural funding sources to support original research in the field of Radiological Sciences.

Requirements - Candidate must possess an M.D. or D.O. degree and must be fellowship trained in Diagnostic Neuroradiology with documented track record in research and teaching. The candidate must demonstrate a proven publication history and a track record of receiving grant funding. Candidates must be board-certified in diagnostic radiology and hold an unrestricted medical license in the State of California.

The University of California Health system serves Orange County population. The Department of Radiological Sciences performs over 220,000 examinations per year and has 40 full-time and part time faculty. All equipment is state of the art. The department has active multidisciplinary collaboration with other departments. A brand new, state of the art imaging facility is opening in 2020 with new equipment in several modalities.

Orange County is world renowned for its natural beauty, perfect year round climate, gorgeous locales on the Pacific Ocean and incomparable recreational opportunities. Great cultural opportunities abound in Orange County as well as in nearby Los Angeles, 40 minutes away and San Diego, about 60 minutes away.
