Position description

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of California, Irvine has an occasional need for postdoctoral scholar positions (Levels I-IV) in the following research areas of the department, including but not limited to: Structures, geotechnics and materials, transportation systems engineering, hydrology and water resources systems, and environmental processes and energy systems. These positions require a Ph.D. in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or a related field from an accredited university. This is an ongoing recruitment and positions are dependent upon availability of extramural funding. Initial appointments are for one year and renewal is based on job performance and availability of support. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Note: Total duration of an individual’s postdoctoral service may not exceed five years, including postdoctoral service at other institutions.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering and/or Environmental Engineering or a closely related field.
