Position description

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of California, Irvine anticipates an opening for a full-time position in the Project Scientist Series to join the Perinatal Research Laboratory to investigate an emerging role of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) in the regulation of uterine and placental hemodynamics. The lab currently focusing on advancing the understanding of a physiological role of augmented H2S signaling in uterine and placental angiogenesis and vasodilation in pregnancy, whether impaired H2S signaling contributes to preeclampsia, and whether protein sulfhydration serves as the primary signaling route for H2S to elicit its proangiogenic vasodilatory effects in the uterine and placental circulations.

Candidate must possess a PhD. At least three years of postdoctoral training in translational perinatal research, established academic productivity, and a willingness to work on NIH-funded research projects is preferred. The successful candidate will be encouraged to develop independent research projects in relevant areas for future career development.
