Junior Specialist – Sleep and Cognition Lab (Dr. Sara Mednick)

Position description
The Department of Cognitive Sciences at the University of California, Irvine invites applicants for a Junior Specialist position in the Sleep and Cognition Lab (http://sleepandcognitionlab.org/) under the direction of Dr. Sara Mednick. The applicant will work in sleep research and behavioral testing, specifically assisting with data collection including EEG preparation and placement, and analysis of sleep polysomnography and cognitive performance.
Requirements: Applicants must have a bachelor’s (or equivalent degree) in psychology or a related field. Highly motivated individuals with EEG preparation and electrode placement experience, working knowledge of sleep stage scoring, MATLAB, and Excel, and basic data management skills are preferred.
The appointment may be a full or part-time position depending on need. Salary is commensurate with qualifications, years of experience, appointment type, and level of effort. The preferred start date for this position is between January 2022 and February 2022.

Qualifications
- Candidates should have relevant experience and a bachelor’s (or equivalent degree) in psychology or a related field.
- Candidates should also have prior experience in a sleep and memory research lab, with expertise in polysomnography and cognitive testing.
