NeuroGeneticist

The University of California (UC), Irvine, Department of Neurology is recruiting a BC/BE faculty member to develop a dedicated Neurogenetics Program at UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange, California. The successful candidate will have outstanding training in neurology and medical genetics with fellowship training in Clinical Genetics preferred. The academic appointment is expected to be at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the Health Science Clinical Professor Series or the Clinical X Series. Salary will be commensurate with training and experience.

Successful candidates will work closely with neurology subspecialists. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to, patient care and consults, outpatient genetic clinics and multidisciplinary team settings, teaching medical students and residents, and research.

Basic Qualifications: (required to complete application)
M.D., or M.D./Ph.D. from an accredited institution with appropriate training and experience, postgraduate clinical training, and eligibility for one of the medical specialty boards. Candidate must demonstrate teaching ability or have a clear potential as a clinical teacher.

Additional Qualifications: (required at start of appointment)
Board eligible in the specialty appropriate to the clinical care and teaching activities, or have appropriate equivalent recognition. Demonstrate clinical ability commensurate with experience in a Neurology specialty.
