Position description
The Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute is looking for a Director of Health & Wellness Coaching in the Health Science Series, which includes education, administration and research related to the Health and Wellness Coaching program. Works on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Serves as a patient educator and advocate to empower patients to develop self-management skills toward their chronic disease. Works to improve patient function, quality of life and improve chronic disease outcomes.
The Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute provides the best scientific research, education and clinical care integrating conventional and complementary medicine and strives to transform healthcare through the practice of integrative health by conducting rigorous research, promoting evidence-based treatment modalities, educating the public on well-being practices, providing individualized, patient-centered clinical care and providing services to the community that focus on obtaining optimal health.
Required:
• Master’s degree in food and nutrition, dietetics, human development or related field.
• Current national board certified health and wellness coach (NBC-HWC).
• 10 years experience as a Health and Wellness Coach.
• 3 years experience as Health and Wellness Coach Program Co-Director or Director
• Experience with Learning Management System (i.e. Canvas)
• Working knowledge of the health promotion and education field.
• Skills associated with both the development and delivery of health education programs and services.
• Working knowledge of the design and delivery of related programs.
• Effective interpersonal skills needed to work with a diverse client group.
• Ability to acquire the requisite skills to analyze, interpret and respond to client needs.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Preferred:
• Knowledge of integrative treatment modalities.
• Advanced degree in a health or wellness-related field (e.g., public health, kinesiology, health education, etc.) with a concentration in integrative health or integrative wellness
