Position description

Prof. Brain J. F. Wong, M.D., Ph.D.,. has a Postdoctoral–Fellow position available at the Beckman Laser Institute & Medical Clinic (BLI), Department of Surgery, School of Medicine at the University of California, Irvine. The post-doctoral fellow will work on the development of optical imaging technology of the upper airway using a number of imaging modalities.

The BLI is a multi-disciplinary research center at UC Irvine with a strong focus on optical imaging of organs and tissues. Candidates should have a background in Electrical or Biomedical Engineering or Computer Science and biomedical optics expertise.

Requirements: Candidates must have a PhD in engineering or an M.D., or a foreign equivalent by the date of hire. Communication and writing skills are paramount. Candidates should possess the ability to work in an interdisciplinary team setting and familiarity with biomedical optics concepts is desired.
Salary level is negotiable and will depend upon the candidate’s experience. Preference is given to US University graduates. All appointments are for one year with potential for extension dependent upon performance and funding. Send inquiries to bjwong@uci.edu.
