Specialist Series
The Department of Neurology at the University of California, Irvine, invites applications for a Specialist position in any series (Junior, Assistant, Associate, or Full Specialist) in the laboratory of Mark Mapstone, PhD. The lab is focused on aging and dementia in individuals with Down syndrome. The appointment is for 1 year with the possibility of extension upon satisfactory performance. We are seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, willingness to participate in clinical and research meetings/conferences, and has previous experience in research. The candidate should be extremely efficient in working within a multidisciplinary team and have strong organizational and communication skills. The successful applicant will become a member of a vibrant team working to improve the understanding of aging, memory, and cognitive decline in individuals with Down syndrome. The position requires an individual who is an effective team player, highly organized, and demonstrate sensitivity and maturity in dealing with people of various ages and functional abilities.
Requirements:
Candidates should hold at minimum of a bachelor's degree (or equivalent). Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Additional Information:
Applicants who are Spanish speaking are preferred. Work locations will be at UCIMC and UCI Campus
