Department of Urology

Position: Specialist Series Pool Ad

The Department of Urology at the University of California, Irvine anticipates openings for Junior, Assistant, Associate, and full Specialists.

Applications are sought from candidates with a strong laboratory research background. The incumbent will be expected to perform research in a specialized area, provide university and public service, and demonstrate professional competency and activity. This is an ongoing recruitment. Positions are dependent on extramural funding. Rank will be determined based on qualifications and experience. Initial appointments are for one year and renewal will be dependent on availability of support. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Minimum Qualifications:
Specialist Series (Open Ranks)

Junior Specialist: Should possess a baccalaureate degree (or equivalent degree) or equivalent research experience.

Assistant Specialist: Must possess a master’s degree (or foreign equivalent degree) or a baccalaureate degree (or foreign equivalent degree) and a minimum of two years of research experience.

Associate Specialist: Must possess a master’s degree (or foreign equivalent degree) or a baccalaureate degree (or foreign equivalent degree) and a minimum of six years of research experience.

Specialist: Must possess a terminal degree (or foreign equivalent degree) or baccalaureate degree (or foreign equivalent degree) and ten or more years of experience.
