Pediatric Dermatologist - Health Science Clinical Professor Series & Clinical X Series, Open Ranks
The University of California Irvine (UCI) School of Medicine, Department of Dermatology in partnership with The CHOC Children's Specialist invites applications from PhD, MD, or MD-PhD board-certified/eligible Pediatric Dermatologists who will be instrumental in expanding the Pediatric Dermatology practice within the Department of Dermatology.
This position will have a full-time academic appointment in the UC Irvine Department of Dermatology and will be involved in resident teaching and mentoring. There is opportunity to expand pediatric dermatology access at UC Irvine and be a part of their active and successful Dermatology team. Position will have access to the many energy based treatment devices in the Department of Dermatology and Beckman Laser Institute at UC Irvine. Responsibilities include providing quality care to pediatric patients from birth to young adulthood. Our service is primarily outpatient.
The full-time academic appointment may be at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level in the Health Sciences Clinical or Clinical X series, depending on experience and extent of research effort. Clinical X appointments confer membership in the UCI Academic Senate.
Criteria for the Professor of Clinical "X" Series: The incumbent will be expected to conduct substantial research; provide patient care; teach fellows, residents, and medical students; and perform public and University service. Excellent teaching is an essential criteria for appointment in this series.
Criteria for the Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series: The incumbent will be expected to teach fellows, residents, and medical students; provide patient care; contribute to scholarly activities; and provide public and University service.
The successful candidate will work with a collaborative group at CHOC as well as 17 faculty, 15 residents, 1 fellow, & dedicated staff at UC Irvine.
The UCI Skin Club has in excess of 30 members across the campus in basic sciences and other disciplines.

Qualifications
Candidates must possess a MD, PhD, or MD/PhD degree in the field of Dermatology or equivalent, and be eligible for California licensure.
