Position: Health Sciences Clinical Instructor

The Department of Neurological Surgery at the University of California, Irvine anticipates openings for physicians in its various divisions. These openings will be at the level of Clinical Instructor, in the Health Sciences Clinical Series (non-tenured).

The Health Sciences Clinical Instructor will be primarily responsible for clinical instruction at UC Irvine Medical Center and/or affiliated sites in Orange County. The Health Sciences Clinical Instructor will also assist with formative and summative assessment and simulated activities related to the undergraduate
and postgraduate programs. Clinicians interested in pursuing a one -year or two-year Fellowship in sub-specialty training programs within the Department of Neurological Surgery practice will be given the opportunity to be a part of a dynamic department that provides care in UC Irvine Health clinical locations, including the UC Irvine Health Medical Center, a modern facility with state -of-the -art operating rooms

Due to the clinical nature of the clinical training programs, strong consideration will be given to candidates that have a current clinical background and have worked in a clinical environment in the past 3-5 years. The incumbent must be able to use instructional technology, possess excellent written and oral communication skills, have effective management skills and be able to work a flexible schedule that occasionally may include evenings or weekend assignments.

Requirements - Applicants should be board-certified or board-eligible in appropriate board specialty and required training through an ACGME approved residency training program. Positions are dependent upon funding. Rank will be determined based on qualifications and experience. Initial appointments are for one year and renewal is based on availability of support. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
