Position description
The UCI Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) in the Henry Samueli School of Engineering is currently accepting applications for an Associate Specialist in the laboratory of Professor Chang Liu. The duties of the position include 1) implementing a project developing and applying an autonomous hypermutation system for antibody evolution (75%), 2) advising a team of 1-3 researchers working on continuous antibody evolution (15%), and 3) implement research and operation strategies for the Liu lab (10%). The initial appointment will be full-time for a 12-month period with the possibility for renewal based on performance.
This position requires a PhD in biomedical engineering or related field, 4 or more years of post-PhD research experience in synthetic biology or related fields, excellent interpersonal and organization skills, and strong communication (oral and written) skills are required.
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and years of experience.
