A position in the Specialist series is available in the area of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in Prof. Weiss's lab in the Department of Chemistry at the University of California, Irvine. The successful candidate will work on advancing the protein engineering project aimed at reprogramming protease specificity.
At minimum, the applicant should hold a B.S. in Biochemistry and/or Molecular Biology, or related field, and should have basic and working knowledge. Protein purification, DNA sequencing, and/or mutagenesis experience is preferred. Initial funding will be available for one year. Extension on the position is based on performance and funding availability. Salary is commensurate with experience.
