Position description

Postdoctoral applications are being sought from recent Ph.D. graduates. Positions are immediately available in the laboratory of Dr. Xing Dai in the Department of Biological Chemistry at School of Medicine, University of California, Irvine for research related to the molecular control of skin repair and inflammation, and microbial-skin interaction. Prior training in molecular biology, tissue culture, cell biology, lentiviral gene delivery, and/or animal models is desired. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience, and full benefits will be provided.

The applicants will be working on federally funded research projects that are built on our recent discoveries regarding stem cell regulation, wound healing, inflammation, and epithelial-immune cross-talks (e.g., Lee et al. Dev Cell. 2014. 29(1):47-58; Haensel et al. Cell Reports. 2020. 30(11):3932-3947.e6.; Sun et al, JID 2021. 141(6):1542-1552; Dragan et al. JID 2022. 142(3 Pt A):583-593.e5; Vu et al. Cell Rep. 2022. 40(5):111155).

A doctoral degree (e.g., Ph.D., M.D.) or the foreign equivalent is required. Individuals pursuing clinical fellowships and residencies in the health sciences are excluded from appointment to these titles.
