Position: Specialists, Open Ranks for CalPlug
California Institute for Telecommunications and Information Technology anticipates openings in the Specialist Series.
CALIT2 promotes research and develops technology for areas such as flexible load energy efficiency and management, biomedical, communication and networking technologies.
Requirements - Applications are being sought from degreed candidates in physics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science engineering or biomedical engineering. Completion of PhD degree in related area and/or equivalent experience preferred.
This is an ongoing recruitment and positions, which are dependent upon extramural funding. Initial appointments are for one year and renewal is based on performance and availability of support. The responsibilities include assisting Calit2 director in overseeing technical strategies, implementation, and applications in CalPlug (a new center within Calit2 with a focus on energy efficiency in manufacturing process and building plug loads), working on CalPlug projects for prototypes, patents, presentations and publications, and collaborating with Calit2 staff in coordinating technical contents for center demos, and workshops. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
