Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series or Clinical X series – Cornea and Cataract

The Gavin Herbert Eye Institute at the University of California, Irvine, is seeking candidates for a full‐time faculty position as an Assistant, Associate or Full Clinical Professor in Ophthalmology – Cornea and Cataract. The appointment series, dependent upon the qualifications of the candidate, may be a member of the Academic Senate in the Professor of Clinical X Series or in a Non-Senate position in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series.
Candidates must have an M.D. or D.O. degree, fellowship training in the field of corneal surgery and must have demonstrated skills in the areas of surgical and medical cornea. The position will also include refractive cataract surgery as well as complex lens and refractive disorders. Candidates must also possess a background in research or scholarly activity with an interest in clinical or basic science research in cornea and/or anterior segment disease. Duties will include clinical care of patients, and sharing in the responsibility for didactic and clinical training of fellows, residents, and medical students.
