Position description
The Division of Nephrology, Hypertension & Kidney Transplantation in the Department of Medicine is recruiting for clinical investigator faculty members at the level of Professor or above, in the Clinical X Series. The level of appointment will be dependent upon demonstrated expertise, skill set, and capacity to support an independent research program. Position can involve clinical and academic activities at one or more sites including UCI Medical Center and/or UCI Satellite Community Clinic locations. Faculty in these positions are expected to be Principal Investigators (PIs) for investigations (clinical, translational, basic science); and productive in the scholarly activities matching one or more of the Institution’s missions: Discover, Teach, Heal.
Minimum requirements: MD, MD/PhD or equivalent degree, Board certification or eligibility in adult nephrology, and eligibility to obtain an active medical practice license in the State of California. Candidates are expected to lead and conduct clinical and/or translational research within a specific area of focus. Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications.
Applicants must have demonstrated capabilities for teaching and professional service. Graduating, Nephrology fellows are strongly encouraged to apply as are clinical educators and clinician scientists.
Qualifications
MD, MD/PhD or equivalent degree, Board certification or eligibility in adult Medical (Nephrology), and eligibility to obtain an active medical practice license in the State of California. Candidates are expected to lead and conduct clinical and/or translational research within a specific area of focus
