Position description

The Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing is currently accepting applications for an Academic Coordinator for the Pre-Licensure Program.

The academic coordinator is responsible for engaging community partners in educational opportunities for UG and MS nursing students. Through relationship building, new and existing affiliations will be created and strengthened to support the education of the Prelicensure student in attainment of Program Goals. Working with school leadership, this person will implement existing educational materials and create new content as needed to improve student learning and in line with program and national standards.

The academic programs that the Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing offers educate nursing professionals of tomorrow to excel in clinical or research settings. Since 2007, our program has had an astonishing 100 percent pass rate on National Nurse Practitioner Board Certified exams. Academic degrees offered include a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Science, a Master of Science in Nursing Science, a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree, with or without a Family Nurse Practitioner concentration (DNP-FNP); and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Nursing Science.

The School of Nursing is one of four academic units in the College of Health Sciences which includes a School of Medicine, School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Science and Programs in Public Health. With these units, along with the UCI Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute, the Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing is pioneering a team-based, interprofessional model of research, education and patient-centered care for the 21st century.

The minimum requirements are a Bachelors degree in an applicable field with clinical experience appropriate to the position (e.g., primary care, women’s health, and pediatrics.)
