Position description
The McNaughton laboratory at UCI Center for the Neurobiology of Learning and Memory is accepting applications for a postdoctoral position to study the neural basis of cortical learning and knowledge representation at the level of neural ensembles. The project will involve high-density electrophysiological and/or 2-photon recording in mouse cortex and hippocampus in an immersive virtual reality paradigm, and optogenetic or chemogenetic manipulation of hippocampal output.

The successful candidate will either have or be near completion of a Ph.D. in a relevant field, and have demonstrated capability relevant to the design and conduct of experiments using neural ensemble recording and/or imaging in behaving animals and related data analysis, and a record of research productivity including first author publications. The appointment will be initially for two years, with possibility of reappointment depending on fund availability and productivity. Salary commensurate with NIH pay scales.
