Salary range: The salary range for this position is $82,200-$218,500. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Professorial Series-Health Sciences Compensation Plan. This position may include membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, which provides eligibility for additional compensation.

Position description

The Department of Biological Chemistry and The Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center invite applications for an ASSISTANT PROFESSOR or ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR position. Exceptional candidates at the FULL PROFESSOR rank will be considered.

We seek outstanding candidates who address important questions in cancer immunology. The ideal applicant is creative and collaborative with mechanistic interests in normal and malignant hematopoietic stem cells, hematopoietic stem cell transplantation, approaches to improve adoptive cell therapy of cancer, or identification and therapeutic targeting of mechanisms of resistance to cancer immunotherapy.

The Department of Biological Chemistry (BC) is highly interdisciplinary, with particular strength in cancer, epigenetics, metabolism, circadian biology, and bioinformatics. Faculty of BC benefit from participation in the NCI-Designated Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center (CFCCC), the UCI Cancer Research Institute (CRI), and the Center for Epigenetics & Metabolism. Applicants with innovative perspectives and research interests that embrace interdisciplinary approaches are highly encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications (required at time of application)

Applicants should hold a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree, and lead or develop a rigorous well-funded research program.
