The Department of Medicine is seeking candidates for an In-Residence faculty position, at the level of Assistant Professor or above in the In-Residence series, in the Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute (SSIHI) and Department of Medicine. The objective of this full-time position is to support the core research mission of the UCI SSIHI, which is to coordinate and conduct large observational, epidemiologic research studies as well as clinical trials that address lifestyle, environmental, and genetic factors that affect health; understand the mechanisms underlying integrative health approaches; and understand contributions to improved health and wellness made by complementary health interventions. The candidate is expected to provide leadership in health outcomes research, health services research, epidemiology, clinical trials, or implementation science to further the research mission of the SSIHI. The candidate is also expected to have an excellent record of research productivity, history of extramural grants, and experience within the field of Integrative Health research.
Duties include:
• Collaborate with the Executive and Research Director to create and sustain the research mission and vision to promote the implementation and evaluation of integrative health in clinical care and population health.• Serve as facilitator, advisor, and consultant to faculty and healthcare providers in matters related to research and research implementation.
• Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines regarding conduct of research and utilization of research findings in practice and education.
• Identify and pursue funding opportunities, including program awards, in support of innovation and research both independently and collaboratively.• Promote recognition of SSIHI research-related accomplishments and achievements.
• Create and sustain an environment that facilitates the integration of clinical research to improve the delivery of patient care.

Specific duties and responsibilities may vary depending on the needs of the Institute.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Ability to establish a leadership role in multi-disciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of scientific approach and methodologies, including the principles, concepts, methods, and standards of research.
• Knowledge and familiarity with clinical trials and experimental designs.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
