Position description

The Department of Film and Media Studies at the University of California, Irvine invites applications for part-time lecturer position to teach an upper division undergraduate course in Television Writing for the Fall 2023 quarter.

Applicants must have a MFA in Screenwriting or a related field in hand by June 30, 2023. Preferred candidates will be an experienced practitioner with experience in a writer’s room and/or experience in development and writing pilots and show bibles, with strong pedagogy expertise and professional contacts in industry, public, or independent media sectors. University-level teaching experience in Film and Media Studies is preferred. Candidates with a specialization in community expression—that is, a commitment to underrepresented stories and voices —are especially welcomed.

The service period for Fall 2023 quarter is 9/25/23 - 12/15/23
