POSITION DESCRIPTION
The University of California, Irvine's School of Law is seeking an individual who has experience working in the area of Environmental Law. The professional Associate Researcher at UCI is designed for scientists or scholars who engage in independent and creative high-quality research. Applicants should therefore have a proven track record of consistent publications in this area and independent pilot funding.

The candidate will act as staff director of the UCI Law Center for Land, Environmental and Natural Resources. Among other environmental, natural resources, and land use law issues, the candidate will particularly work on strategic initiatives in environmental justice. This includes legal and interdisciplinary research, interviewing, writing, editing, student research and writing supervision, and participant coordination on a range of environmental and climate law and justice topics. The selected individual will help build law school, university, and community partnerships, as well as grant writing and developmental activities, related to environmental and climate justice. They will also help implement the Center’s broader programming, including other workshop roundtables, public speaker and conference events, and development activities.

Requirements
J.D. or Ph.D. degree in one of the following disciplines: Environmental Law. At least 10 years of experience working in environmental law research is preferred. This position will be appointed at a level that is commensurate with the education and experience of the individual candidate.
